The beauty of ManagiDiTH lies in its multicultural community of students from different walks of life, and from a wide range of professional backgrounds. A Student’s Journey to ManagiDiTH
I have a kind of a strange background: I born, academically, as a dance sciences student. I have studied Dance on the context of human kinetics, and I am a passionate in movement rehabilitation (through dance).
I know, I know… How am I on a Master in Managing Digital Transformation in the Health Sector? Bear with me, as this makes perfect sense, I promise you!
So, Digital Transformation is, nowadays, a very pertinent area of studies. Connecting movement, therapy, rehabilitation and digital transformation is a safe bet on the contemporary state of the arts.
2024 was the year of this decision. But why start a pilot project right now, at 41, while being a worker and a mother? Well, this master was actually an answer to my desires: I can manage to do this investment without taking anything away from all my obligations (ok, honestly, I invested my free time in here, but for a good cause). It has been a challenge (not hiding it) because there is a level of demand. But it comes also with the “I can do it” feeling that comes with managing to deliver at the end. And for me, it is keeping me active and motivated also at work (even if sometimes I get a bit anxious).
My line of work is as a business analyst for the IT department of an insurance branch of a big banking group. We work with automation projects and data analysis. This master is being an opportunity to consolidate the theoretical part of my job because I have done a path of learning with experience but have never learned the theory. Also, this master is giving me inputs to pursue my starting path of dance, and I am committed to develop my thesis on developing an algorithm that will allow to predict injuries in Dancers.
Managing Digital Transformation in Health Sector showed me a world of opportunities and is giving me the tools to connect the dots and draw a perfect perspective of new road to open and follow.
Starting this path of studies has been a ride into an amazing world of shared ideas, multicultural perspectives and creating an amazing network of (hopefully) long and lasting international friendships. I got to taste for the first time the amazing Finnish Fazer chocolate, I got to meet amazing and brilliant colleagues, and I also got to exchange ideas on my views in this course topics. The cherry on the top of the cake was the amazing summer week that brought us connection, space to speak and learn and the opportunity of gathering around a world of different cultures, different practices and a general scope: bringing healthcare into the new digital era.
It will be demanding, it will be a roller coaster, but it will also be an amazing opportunity to take this train and make it to your destination.
